On May 31st, 2013 not a mile from our offices we saw the smoke rise from the fire that took the lives of 4 Houston Firefighters. At that time, we had no idea it had happened until we heard the news. With the lives of others on their minds, these heroic firefighters went into the blaze to save those who could have been trapped inside, but sadly it was their lives that were taken.

Immediately, we made a contribution of these special remembrance wristbands to be given to all of the firefighters in Houston to help keep their memory alive and build public awareness. What we did not know until June 2nd, was that a fifth firefighter, Capt William Dowling was also seriously injured and as of today, he is still in a medically induced coma. Many of the firefighters decided to donate their bands back so that money could be raised to help Capt Dowlings family, as they have a long road ahead.

Our Fundraising Participation Ended on 11/27/13 when we were able to donate nearly $3500 (approx 80%) of collected proceeds, which were provided by supporters like you to the William Dowling Foundation via Metlife of Houston.
